Autumn/Winter 2006 - Editor: June Seager

Dear Colleagues
This has been an exciting and very busy year for the Conservative Women's Organisation.
We welcomed David Cameron's election as Leader and our Organisation has been taking on many new
initiatives to reflect the new direction that the Party is taking.
February saw the launch of our new interactive website (Read the Press Release) and also the launch of the Conservative Women's Forum.
Our AGM/mini Conference in March was entitled "Conservative Women Go Green: Caring for the Environment" and was both thought-provoking
and informative.
Three days later sixteen of us flew out to Washington for an intensely political week. Sally Ridley-Day's work in
organising this visit through her American contacts was much appreciated.
In May our Blue Ribbon Dinner was a complete sell-out. We
also co-hosted a Children's Summit at the House of Commons with Tim Loughton MP and the Shadow Children's Team to highlight the
importance of the right childcare in the early years.
During June, women across the country held "Tory Rainbow Teas" (or coffees) and we also had a very successful joint Reception with
Conservative Future at the House of Commons, hosted by Eleanor Laing MP.
We are planning an exciting programme for the Autumn, the highlight of which will be the 75th Conservative Women's Conference on
30th November. Men, women and non-members will be welcome to join us at the QEII Center, Westminster for this celebration event.
Thank you for all your help. Together we will work to ensure that the Conservative Party regains the women's vote, ensuring the return
of a Conservative Government.
All good wishes,
Fiona Hodgson
